Made this cake tonight and followed the recipe with no changes. We were very disappointed in the the flavor and texture of both the cake and the frosting. The cherry flavor really didn't seem to come through which is odd because it really smelled so good coming out of the oven. The frosting again seemed weak on flavor and you could really taste the powdered sugar and shortening.
